Microsoft Visual Studio IDEs

There are three types of IDEs:

• Visual Studio Code:
  • Partly open-source
  • Most popular IDE

• VS Codium:

  • Compiled version of VSCode without telemetry
  • supports extensions, though it uses a different store

• Visual Studio: Specialized in C/C++/C# programming and debugging

  • Community edition is free
